The LTTC-LI Training Program offers
language courses in English, Japanese, French, German,
and Spanish. All students must be at least 18 years of
age. Class sizes vary from 8 to 18 students, with an
average of 13. Students are placed according to ability.
Ten-week term courses commence four times
each year, in January, April, July, and October. Weekday
classes are held from Monday to Friday at times between
8:00A.M. and 9:10P.M. Weekend classes meet on Saturdays
between 9:30A.M. and 4:30P.M. Classes in English are
offered to students who have a minimum of high-school
level English, and classes in other languages are taught
from the beginner's level. Courses include listening,
conversation, reading, writing, news English, and
English for Specific Purposes.
Classes are arranged in the following programs:
Half-Day
Program: 15
hours a week, 150 hours in
total
Part-Time
Program: 5
hours a week, 50 hours
in total,
or 10 hours over every two
weeks, 50 hours
in total
Weekend
Program:
3 hours each Saturday, 30 hours in total
Short-Term Program:
10-, 20-, or 30-hour classes, both during regular terms
and during term breaks
Special Classes:
Classes for specific purposes can be arranged upon
request.
